Red Willows

This is a secluded,  ethnically mixed eco-community based around the Rio Pueblo de Taos River which flows down from the Sangre de Cristo Mountains on the northern border of New Mexico. The dispersed settlement has a wide range of buildings ranging from old traditional pueblo style structures, made of stone & adobe, to ‘Earthship’ homes, made for sustainable architecture.    The aim of Red Willows is to live in tune with nature doing  little to harm the  environmental, in fact to do as little harm as possible to anyone.

The populace is very mixed consisting of residents from the Taos-speaking Native American tribe of  Puebloan people, local Hispanic peoples and those of white European descent. There is also a good number of those from  a mix of these ancestral groups and  of other racial backgrounds.  The folk of Red Willows keep a very low profile and are keen to not come to the notice of their Amerikan Reich neighbours to the north in Colorado.  That said they will aid outsiders who stumble across them  and will occasionally send trade parties out.
