"When the rad-winds blow", Fort Kaiser (Spring 98 A.F.)
The fort is a classic post-Fall junk fort made of improvised materials including corrugated iron and wood amongst many other resources. It is situated five miles north of Alamogordo where the old '82 road leaves the Sacramento Mountains before joining with the old ’54 which is two miles further on to the south west . Fort Kaiser has a vehicle repair shop, medical facility and an armoury.
Recently the Schnedier Brothers sold their old family home, the fort, to representatives of the Texican Republic to become part of the Old New Mexico Territories. A small garrison of Texican soldiers and civilians is now settling in at the fort.
