The POTUS is in fact a committee of the Continuity Government of the United States of America after the last President died of Alzheimer’s disease decades ago. Unable, or unwilling, to appoint a successor the Continuity Committee was established “until a time free and fair elections may be held”. Sadly that time has never arrived and the POTUS has become increasingly authoritarian with the passage of time.
